Come celebrate and learn more about the cultures and places that make our JSS world beautiful at Around the World, a long-time community event at Jackson Street School.
JSS families who 1) have a family connection to places, cultures, languages they want to share or 2) are interested in learning more about other places, cultures, languages are welcome to participate!
Your PTO is thrilled to announce that the JSS Soccer Goals Fund reached its funding target and JSS will have new soccer goals. Our community’s generous donations of all sizes--from $10 and up--means that JSS can continue to foster an outdoor environment that promotes fun, teamwork, and well-being.
We’re sending shout outs and thanks especially to large donors the Muspratt family; Tristan, Finn, Henri, Charles and Tara Dumont; the Vasquez-Zapryanova family; Sophie Dumont and family; Lenore and Isaac Palladino; Louis Dumont and family; and several who wished to remain anonymous. And a very special thank you to the Northampton Soccer Club, whose $600 donation put the fundraiser over the top. We're looking forward to seeing our new goals installed very soon!
Our Mission
The Jackson Street School PTO is a non-profit organization made up of the families/caregivers, teachers and staff of our school. Our mission is
To strengthen the JSS Community by establishing and maintaining a working relationship between families/caregivers, school and community and by empowering families/caregivers to get directly involved in their student’s school.
To enhance the educational experience by supporting academic and enrichment activities.
To improve the environment at our school by providing volunteer and financial support.
The PTO provides assistance to teachers within the classroom settings, raises funds for educational materials and experiences, advocates school and family social interaction, and provides an unbiased forum for sharing information on issues that impact our students and our community.
We meet at 6:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month during the school year in the school library.
All are welcome and childcare and refreshments are provided.
At JSS, our teachers and staff motivate, facilitate and expand students learning skills through creating a safe, sensitive, flexible and culturally proficient environment for ALL to succeed. Everyone at JSS constantly work collaboratively to ensure safe learning environment for our students where they find JOY and LOVE. Teachers and staff at JSS strive to make an impact on their students perceptions of school and help them take ownership in their own learning and future. Together we ALL as students, teachers, parents/guardians grow and learn from each other in this community.
Participating at JSS events as a volunteer is a wonderful way to support your child's learning experience. Do you have a talent to share or time to spare?
